John "Elio" Manni, 84, of Atlasburg, died Monday, May 5, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital.He was born August 2, 1929, in Fredrickstown, a son of the late Nazareno and Evelyn Mores Manni.Prior to retirement, he was employed by Pitt Metals in McDonald.Mr. Manni was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War and was a member of Atlasburg Veterans of Foreign Wars.Surviving are a daughter, Debra (Ray) Smith of Pleasant Gap; two sons, John (Karen) Manni of Atlasburg and Joe (Beverly) Manni of Hanover Township; six grandchildren, Curt and Clay Smith, Jessica Subich, Katie Manni and Ross and Abby Manni; four great-grandchildren, Ella and Sydney Smith and Noah and Will Subich; a brother, James Manni of Canonsburg; a sister, Janice Donelli of Dothan, Ala.; and his loving companion, Dolores Rankin and her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Deceased are his wife, Jean Wojcik Manni, who died in 1978; three brothers, Carl, Anthony and Joseph Manni; and three sisters, Vilma Russell, Florence Crowley and Dora Lombardi.At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation.
