Joseph A. Carrozza, 44, of Finleyville, formerly of Washington, died at 11:59 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a six-month illness.He was born August 10, 1969, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph Andrew Carrozza and Linda Carol Hartley Carrozza of Washington.Mr. Carrozza was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and Washington & Jefferson College.He had been employed as a manager at the Mr. Hungry restaurant in Meadow Lands, and later was employed at Washington County Health Center as an assistant dietary director.Mr. Carrozza enjoyed fishing, cooking and wine making and was an avid Steelers and Penguins fan.He was a member of BPOE Elks Lodge 776 and a life member of the Alpine Club.Mr. Carrozza will not only be missed by his many friends and family, but by his two best friends, his two chocolate Labs, Mason and Crosby.On May 19, 2007, he married Gwen E. Scheffel, who survives.Also surviving are sisters Andrea Carrozza (John Funka) of Strabane and Jennifer (William) Schumacher of Washington, and a niece, Elizabeth Schumacher.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, with the Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating.
