Steve Clarke, 78, of Houston, died Monday, May 12, 2014, in Washington Hospital.He was born October 7, 1935, in Crescent Heights, a son of Marko and Anna Dulovic Andler. After the death of his parents as a child, he was adopted by the late Wade and Lois Clarke.Mr. Clarke was a 1953 graduate of Chartiers High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a sergeant with the U.S. Marine Corps.Mr. Clarke worked for Eighty Four Mining, retiring in 1998.He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Houston. Mr. Clarke also was a member of United Mine Workers Association Local 1197, Fraternal Order of Bears in Meadow Lands and American Legion Post 902 in Houston.He loved the outdoors, camping and gardening.On December 21, 1955, he married his wife of 58 years, Joyce L. Coneby, who survives.Also surviving are three children, Dora Ann Bradel (Norman) of Pittsburgh, Stephen Clarke (Patricia) of Scenery Hill and Daniel Clarke of Strabane; a granddaughter, Lauren Bradel; a grandson, Mark Bradel; two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Czerwinsky of Brownsville; and several nieces and nephews.Deceased are five sisters, Mary Andler, Ann Tucker, Catherine Andler, Betty Burnsworth and Agnes Rheam.At the request of the deceased, all services are private and have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.The family suggest memorial contributions be made to First United Presbyterian Church of Houston, 102 North Main Street, Houston, PA 15342.
