William D. "Bill" Britton, 60, of Canton Township, died Sunday, June 8, 2014, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.He was born February 19, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wis., a son of Donald and Maryalice Rigby Britton.Mr. Britton was one of the first students in The Arc of Washington County program established at Clark School and was very active in the Easter Seals programs. He was an Arc Human Services resident for nine years and spent the past five years with his caregiver, Linda Chieffalo, and her family, Al and Patrick.He worked for Arc Human Services Inc. janitorial division and was assigned to Foodland on Jefferson Avenue.In his spare time, his many interests included dancing, singing country music, bowling, Special Olympics, special Arc functions, Easter Seals programs, watching college football, Harley Davidsons and doing word puzzles.Surviving are a sister, Mary (Gary Bird) Rigby of Washington; an aunt, Bonnie Gentry of Granby, Conn.; two nieces, Kathy (Raymond Watson) Boyce and Donna Van-Gorder; a nephew, Joseph (Debbie) Burrows; two cousins, Robbie (Shirley) Gentry and Joanne (Stanley) Szelags; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, where a funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, with the Rev. Karen Stevenson officiating.
