HICKEY, ALAN MEREDITH, 68
Summerfield - Alan Meredith Hickey, 68, of Summerfield, FL passed away August 15, 2014. He was born on May 1, 1946 in Freeport, NY to Francis and Grace (Heine) Hickey.
Alan was a Captain and life member of the Bellmore, NY Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an Air Force veteran serving his country for four years. He also worked for three radio stations on Long Island, NY later becoming Director of News and Public Affairs for WCBS-FM in New York City for 28 years. He retired in 2008 and moved to Stonecrest in 2010. Alan was a volunteer on the Stonecrest Emergency Response Team.
Alan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan L. Hickey, two daughters, Janet Hickey, Pam Albanese, both of Lake Mary, FL and 4 grandchildren, Alexandra Polak, Trent Alan Polak, Leah Albanese and Cru Albanese.
The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
