Ocala - Cecil Glen Canterbury, retired USAF, passed away peacefully at Estelle's House on April 4, 2014 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Page, West Virginia, he came to Ocala from Bradenton in 1985. A veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam; he served two years in the U.S. Navy, and retired with 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. He later owned and operated service stations in Virginia and Bradenton, FL.
He is survived by Betty J. Canterbury, his wife of 58 years; son, Cecil Glen (Marty) Canterbury, II; daughter, Anita (John) Burton; brother, Norton (Mary) Canterbury; sister, Patsy Tatham; sister-in-law, Bobbie Canterbury; three grandchildren, Denise Simpson, Elizabeth Bradley, Lacey Bradley; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Hunter Simpson.
Funeral services 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Rd, Anthony, with Chaplain Herb Agee officiating. Visitation from 4:00-6:00 pm prior to the service. A private interment in Florida National Cemetery with full military honors will be held at a later date.
