GILSON, GORDON K., 80
Dunnellon - Gordon K. Gilson died July 24, 2013 at his home in Florida.
He was born in 1932 in Rumford, Maine but spent most of his early years in Belmont, Massachusetts. Gordon served his country for four years in the Air Force and saw combat during the Korean War. He returned to complete his college years and received his BBA from the University of Miami.
Gordon had a successful career in the Labor/Industrial Relations field. He retired from NASA in 1992 after 25 years with the agency at headquarters in Washington, D.C.
He and his loving wife, Joan, moved to Rainbow Springs in 1992. Gordon was a founder and charter member of the Rainbow Springs Billiard Club. He was a two time winner of the annual club championship.
Gordon is survived by his wife Joan of Dunnellon, his son, Sam Gilson of Roundhill, Va. and his daughter, Dale Lacy of Wilmington, N.C. and three grandsons.
A private family "celebration of life" will be held at a later date.
