JOHN MICHAEL, 64
Ocala - John Michael Pruiett, "JP", 64, of Ocala passed away on February 16, 2014.
JP was born on May 3, 1949 in Coloma, Michigan to Thomas Ezra and Regina Neva (Gagliano) Pruiett. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. JP worked with heavy equipment in the construction industry and he was a lime rock mine supervisor. JP was a lifetime member of VFW #4209, Eagles Club #3656, Ocala Moose Lodge #1014 and American Legion Hall #0208. He was a certified blacksmith and was a master barbequer. JP gave his all and loved to barbeque for multiple charities.
He has lived in Marion County for the last 28 years previously living in Tucson, AZ. While in Tucson he was a Sheriff Deputy and also a mentor at Fenster Academy. JP was one tough man with a heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Thomas Pierre Pruiett, Jr.
He is survived by his long time companion, Rose Lucas; daughters: Lisa Henning of Phoenix, AZ, Cheryl (Sergei) Polishchuk of Barrien Springs, MI, and Heather Baushke of Stevensville, MI; brothers: Walter Ezra Pruiett (Tammy Faye) of Smithfield, NC and Robert Eugene Titus (Wendy) of Watervliet, MI; sisters: Terry Lynn Lentz of Hillsboro, IL and Tina Lynn McGervin (Art) of Watervliet, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; 19 grandchildren and his second family, Tom Kimbro, Sr. and sons, Tom, Jr. and Tim.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 5 to 7 pm at Countryside Funeral Home, 9185 NE Jacksonville Road, Anthony. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at Highland Memorial Park, 1515 NE 3rd Street, Ocala with Chosky White officiating.
