Ocala - Kevin G. Duris passed away November 15, 2013 at home. He had been under the care of Hospice since Nov. 6, 2013. Kevin was born to Harold S. Duris and Dorene (LeBeau) Duris on Tuesday August 14, 1956 in Pontiac, Michigan.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in Michigan in 1978 and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan in 1981. While working in San Bernardino, California as a Counselor at Inland Counties Developmental Disabilities Services, his career was untimely ended by a horrific roll-over Jeep accident. Kevin suffered severe head injuries in the accident. He received extensive hospitalization and then loving care under the supervision of his parents for the remainder of his life.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by those who survive him, including his mother and father; sister, Colleen Duris; friend, Laura Doran; Uncles, Harvey LeBeau, Roger Allen; many cousins and his dedicated Caretaker, Jacqueline Bryan.
Our family wishes to thank the many wonderful compassionate and professional people associated with Hospice of Marion County, Florida. Their truly caring efforts and around-the-clock personal attention ensured his last few days were made as comfortable and pain free as possible.
There will be a Mass for Kevin at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at 10.00 am. The family requests that Memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Marion County, Florida, 3231 SW 34th Avenue, Ocala, FL 34474 or Blessed Trinity Brother's Keeper, 2 SW Fort King Street, Ocala, FL 34474. Cremation handled by Florida Cremation, Ocala.
