BLAKE, ROBERT LEO, 64
Belleview - Robert Leo Blake passed away October 5, 2012. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on May 19, 1948, Mr. Blake moved to Belleview from DeWitt, Iowa in 1985. Before retirement, Robert worked as a receiver/shipper. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Blake was of the Methodist faith and a member of the American Legion Post 284. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes, putting models together, and especially loved NASCAR.
Robert is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Brandi (Jay) Simmons, Belleview, FL; Becky Evans, Ocala, FL; sister, Diane (David) Petersen, DeWitt, IA; three grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, and Jason, and two great-grandchildren, Lukas and Amelia.
A memorial service for Mr. Blake will be held Monday, October 15, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services - Belleview, with a committal service immediately following at 12:30 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery. Sentiments may be left online at
