THOMAS JOSEPH
Ocala - Thomas Joseph Craggs, Sr. native of Ocala and owner of Craggs Construction Co. passed away on March 10, 2014.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis Ponder Craggs; sons Tommy (Lynn), Larry (Ann Melinda); grandsons TJ, Conner, Lex, Laurence and Michael; nieces and nephews Merrilyn Craggs Burke, Jennifer Craggs Beckett, Jim, Dan, John, Duane, Clara and Anne Craggs and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, James Harwood Craggs, Sr.; mother, Helen Cleary Craggs; brothers, Daniel, James Harwood Craggs, Jr. and John Emmett Craggs.
Tommy was a third generation road contractor, well recognized for his many projects throughout the state. He was a graduate of the University of Florida, veteran of the Air Force, member and lifelong supporter of Blessed Trinity Church and Trinity Catholic High School, awarded the Blessed Trinity Alumni of the Year in 2009, Elk's Club and one of the founders of the Forest High School Booster Club. Known as a southern gentleman and a truly great guy, above all, Tommy loved his faith, family and friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.
A Gathering will be held at Roberts Downtown Chapel on Thursday, March 13 from 6-8 PM. The Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 14 at 2 PM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, reception to follow in Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Brother's Keeper, 5 SE 17th St, Ocala 34471.
