MOORE, VIRGINIA BOEDY
Ocala - Virginia Boedy Moore, age 97, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2018.
Mrs. Moore was born in Covington, Oklahoma to Charles D. Hill and Marie Garrison Hill on May 14, 1920. She married Charles W. Boedy in Missouri in 1940. They were transferred to Grand Rapids, Michigan where they lived until Mr. Boedy's death in 1973. Three children were born to this union. Their son Randal died at age 24, as the result of his service in Vietnam.
Mrs. Moore loved family and friends, the outdoors and nature, traveling writing, painting art and reading. She was the caretaker of family, friends and strangers too. Virginia was a lifetime member of the Methodist church. She was a newspaper reporter and feature writer. She retired after eighteen years from the Nevada Justice Court System.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith LeVan; and husband, Jerry, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; son, C. Michael Boedy and wife, Joan, of Ocala, Florida. She is also survived by three grandsons; one granddaughter; one great grandson; and three step-children.
Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers to either the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086; the Pineville United Methodist Church, 110 South Polk Street, Pineville, NC 28134, or the Hospice of Marion County, 3231 SW 34th Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34474.
