Mr. Boone was born and raised in Pontotoc, MS. He graduated from Pontotoc High School. He went on to get his Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1956. He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy until 1960. He then went on to a 30 year career with Bull Worldwide. During his career at Bull Worldwide, he attended Babson College in Wellesley, MA, earning his Masters Degree in Business Finance and graduating with High Distinguished Honors.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marianne Wright Boone, whom he was married to for 52 loving years. He was also predeceased by his son, William F Boone, III.
He leaves behind his daughter, Phoebe Boone Demers; her friend, Roger P Demers; granddaughter, Lindsey Schneider, and her husband, Eli; and a great-grandson, Steven H Schneider; brother in law, Jeffry Wright, his wife, Leslie; and their two daughters, Molly and Anna.
In his free time after retiring, Mr. Boone and his wife enjoyed traveling the world aboard cruise ships. They had over 600 days at sea. He was a member of the Radio Control Airplane club in the community where he lived, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4781 in Ocala, FL, and enjoyed finance, real estate, and keeping up with Ocala horse news.
Viewing is from 1 - 3 on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481. A service by the Honor Guard of Angela Santos Post 4781 at 3:00. A private family burial will be at a later date.
