WILLIAM THOMAS, 99
Ocala - William T. Clarke, aged 99, died November 27, 2013 in Ocala, Florida.
He was born in New London, CT and grew up in Newport, Rhode Island. He was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and New York University School of Law. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and was also an Elk. He practiced as a foreign patent attorney, in the chemical field, for General Electric and then for Exxon Corporation. He retired in 1984 and has made his home in Ocala, Florida since then.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor M. Clarke. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia M. Clarke of Ocala, FL, and his son, Chester C. Clarke of Ellicott City, MD as well as three grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary C. Clarke, of Newport RI.
