Carl H. Callahan

TALLMADGE -- Carl H. Callahan, 89, passed away August 1, 2013.

Born in Akron, Carl has lived in Tallmadge since 1991. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 1986 with 34 years of service. Carl was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor R.; granddaughter, Dianne; sisters, Marilyn and Kathleen.

He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Shumaker, Ellen Sterling both of Tallmadge, Heather (Adam) Feeman, and Deborah Balinski both of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, Michael Callahan and Geoffrey Callahan both of Akron; grandchildren, Laurie (Jeffrey) Alan (Kelly) Lisa (William), Autumn, and Cory; seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Father John Hengle officiating. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 at the DONOVAN FUNERAL HOME, 17 SOUTHWEST AVE. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle). In lieu of other remembrances, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Research, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
