Ceal "Red" Flanagan Obituary
Ceal "Red" Flanagan, 88, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 4, 2013.

He was born and raised in Athens, Alabama and moved to Akron when he was 20 years old.

He was preceded in death by his children, Mike Flanagan and Darlene Laktash and grandson, Erik Sanders. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernice; children, Cindy Flanagan, Linda Waisner, Kathy Docy, Daniel Flanagan, Charlene (Jim) Sanders, JB (Ruth), Kevin (Donna), Bobby (Jeannette), and Debbie Breth; and numerous grandchildren.

He was employed at Goodyear for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in France and Germany. He was an active lifetime member of the Army Navy Garrison 102, serving two terms as Commander. He was also a lifetime member of the Airport VFW Post 8975.

A committal service with military honors will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 2:15 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio. Family and friends may join the family in a celebration of his life at the Army Navy Garrison 102, 601 Massillon Rd., on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 1 to 5 p.m. (COX, BARBERTON, 330-745-3311)
