STOW -- David Schmitt, 57, of Stow, passed away July 30, 2013 after a long illness.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Henry and Grace Schmitt; and brother, Edward. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Margaret Waickman, of Stow; brothers, John Schmitt, of Stow, and Paul Schmitt, of Phoenix, Arizona; and many cousins; nieces and nephews. David spent over 40 years at Our Lady of the Wayside in Avon, Ohio where he enjoyed swimming and bowling. He also was active in special Olympics. He also worked at the Lorain County sheltered workshop.
Calling hours will be TODAY from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Stow Chapel (3333 Kent Rd at Rt. 91). Fr. Edward Holland will officiate at a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, with internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
