Eugene E. DeYonge (Gene) passed away peacefully March 19, 2013 at Summa Western Reserve Hospital.
Born December 18, 1928 in Worthington, Minn. to William and Emma DeYonge, he was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Bob and Jim. Survivors include his loving wife, Marilyn; children, Jerry, Randy, Linda (Jeff) Young, and Barbara (Mark) McGraw; stepchildren, Laurie (Greg) McKee and Kellee (Greg) Soldierson; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; many nieces and nephews (including special nephew, Mark Gainer); sisters, Arlene Doeden of Round Lake, Minn., and Sharon Robyn of Florence, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Peggy Klinghammer of Battleground, Ind.
After high school graduation, Gene worked for Chicago-Northwestern R.R. until 1948 when he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After his tour of duty, he worked for Montgomery Ward and Stambaughs until his retirement.
