Gary Robert Artz Obituary
Gary Robert Artz

Gary Robert Artz passed away April 23, 2014.

He was born in 1947 to Harold and Olive Artz. Gary graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. In 1969, he won the Ohio Amateur Golf Tournament. He attended The Ohio State University on a full golf scholarship. Gary and his mother, Olive, were the first mother-son combination to be inducted into the Summit County Sports Hall of Fame. He owned and operated Gary Artz Homes for many years. After losing his wife, Becky, to cancer, he and his mother moved to North Carolina to be near his daughter and her family.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Becky. We are confident of a joyous reunion. He was also preceded by his father, Harold. Gary is survived by his mother, Olive (96 years of age) and his daughter, Candace Bloedorn (Tony) and their precious sons, Parker and Luke. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Fluke (Kay); his aunt, Mary Robinson; and cousins, Kay Bockbrader (Bob) and Lynn Korey (Jim).

We await a sign that he has shot a hole-in-one in heaven. Donations may be made in his memory to the "Stow Schools Foundation." Please make a notation in the memo line for the "Becky Artz Memorial Scholarship." Please mail donations to Don Coughlin, 4942 Pebblehurst Drive, Stow, Ohio 44224.
