George Donovan Diffenbaugh Obituary
George Donovan Diffenbaugh

George Donovan Diffenbaugh, 93, of Akron passed away December 25, 2013. He was born December 6, 1920 to the late George and Bertha (Smith) Diffenbaugh.

Proudly serving in the Army during World War II, he later retired from B.F. Goodrich. He enjoyed classical and jazz music, and spent many hours on the deck with his dog, Chaffee, reading English mysteries. George will be remembered as the ultimate gentleman, an accomplished pianist, and a kind, generous soul.

George was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty; two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Ted) Fabinack of Canton and Lynette (George) Stewart of Danville, Virginia; grandchildren, Gail, Jill, Michael, and Kelly; and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jenna, Samantha, Parker, Chase, Wrenn, and Blake Donovan.

Special thanks to his granddaughter, Gail, his niece and nephews, and his neighbors who brought sunshine to his life with their visits and kind deeds.

Memorial donations in George's honor may be made to PAWSibilities (the Humane Society of Greater Akron) at 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, OH 44087 or the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank at 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, OH 44307. (ADAMS MASON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 330-535-9186)
