Glenn Austin, Jr.

Glenn Austin Jr., 86, passed away on Sept. 21, 2013.

Born in Akron, he was an area resident all of his life. Glenn, a wonderful husband, lfather, grandfather and great grandfather, was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. with 40 years of service.

Glenn has rejoined his wife of 68 years, Bonnie, who passed away in August of this year. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Gilbert and Charles; sisters, Connie Collins and Wilda Etheridge. Glenn is survived by his loving family; daughter, Linda (Jim) Ripley; sons, David (Linda), Kenneth (Sue), Paul (Joy) and Michael (Sue) Austin; brothers, John (Helen) and Bernard; sisters, Nadine Rueschman and JoAnn Werner; 14 igrandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and other dear relatives and friends.

Visitation Tuesday, 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hecker Funeral Home in Uniontown, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Hohlbaugh officiating. Burial at Hillside. For those wishing, memorials may be made in his name to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333.
