Henry E. Donatelli|
Henry E. Donatelli passed away January 4, three days after his 88th birthday.
He was born in Akron on January 1, 1926, the son of Dominic and Maria Donatelli. He was a 1944 graduate of North High School where he met Kathryn Capizzi. They were married in January of 1950, and lived all of their married life on North Hill.
After high school Henry served in the Navy Air Force and flew as a crewman on a Grumman Avenger aircraft, at the end of World War II. He was employed by the United States Postal Service for 33 years, before retiring in 1980.
Proud to call him Dad, he leaves devoted children, son, Mark; and daughter, Lisa.
Henry was one of the oldest living members of The Italian Center, where he served in many capacities from pasta cook to financial officer. He will be best remembered by his humor, his love of music, news, sports, and his devotion to his family.
Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Kathryn Donatelli. He is survived by son, Mark Donatelli of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughter, Lisa Donatelli of Cuyahoga Falls; brother, Victor Donatelli of Akron; sister, Edith Talamo of Bradenton, Fla; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and MaryAnn Donatelli of Akron; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vince and Violet Capizzi of Silver Lake; and many loving nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Henry's life will be celebrated at a mass at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron, OH 44310, Saturday, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the HENNESSY-BAGNOLI-MOORE FUNERAL HOME, 936 N. MAIN ST., AKRON, Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park with military rites conducted by Firestone VFW 3383. Donations may be made to the
