This lovely angel was born June 18, 1985 in Akron, Ohio to Derek E. and Lydia A. (Wright) Rucker.|
India attended Jackson Elementary and Christ the Kings grade school in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Akron North High School in 2003 and was of member of Upward Bound Educational Program that preceded her enrollment at Kent State University from 2003 to 2004. Upon entering the United States Air Force in 2004, she was promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2009.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Corey Dixon in Arlington, Va. on July 5, 2006. On June 9, 2010 she gave birth to her little angel, Sean Corey Dixon, in Waldorf, Md.
India made her trek thru life administering a smile, showing random acts of kindness and living synonymously demonstrating gentleness, sweetness and endless love. India was smart, very strong willed, inspiring, positive, honest, warm hearted, respectful, responsible, thorough, and strong willed. India was a worldwide traveler. She loved her family and most importantly loved the Lord.
India completed her physical journey in this life on September 20, 2012, in Cheverly, Md.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Numie and Ida E. Wright and siblings, Chermaine and Christopher Wright. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, husband, Corey Dixon; son, Sean Corey Dixon; siblings, Cordell Wright of Los Angeles, Tatum Rucker of Grand Rapids, Mich.; grandparents, Albert and Peggy Rucker of Akron; uncles, Dorian Davis of Denver, Colo., Anthony and Albert Rucker, Jr., both of Akron; aunts, Charlotte Meade, Olivia and Charlene Bonner, all of Fairmont, W. Va., and Pamela Rucker of Kent, Ohio; nieces, Lauren and Mikaylah; cousins, Kenath, Caleb, Leo, Renita, Rebecca, and Leland; sisters and brother-in-law, Pamela and John Dixon and Courtney Dixon, all of Montgomery, N.Y.; dearest friends, Amber Wright, Michelle Baechel, Ashley Scrivens and Torell (Dink) Hopson; special friends, Gahan, Jenessa, Saquoya, Trish, Brittney, and many special relatives and friends.
Calling hours for family and friends will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with family receiving friends from noon to 1 p.m., with service immediately following at the Arlington Church of God, 539 S. Arlington St., with Pastor Edward Wheat eulogizing and Pastor R. Stacey Jenkins officiating. Burial will take place on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Procession will form from the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m., and condolences may be sent to 78 Rosalind Ct., Akron, OH 44304.
