Pastor Jack A. Coontz, 66, went home to be with his Lord on June 4, 2014.

Born in Akron on May 26, 1948 to Jack and Betty Jo Armstrong Coontz, he was a Green H.S. graduate. Jack served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, and later in the Army Reserves. He worked for the Uniontown Police Dept. for over 28 years, retiring as Police Chief in 2011. Jack also served as the Pastor at Uniontown Chapel of Faith for over 13 years.

He is survived by his loving family: wife of 45 years, Cheryl; children, Lisa (Phillip) Weiland and Jack II (Jessica); grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Weiland; sister, Lacy Jo (Warren) Lowery; brothers, Ralph (Debbie), Ron (Chris); and many other cherished relatives and friends.

Visitation Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Uniontown Chapel of Faith, where funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tom Nicholas officiating. Burial at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Uniontown Chapel of Faith. (Hecker 330-699-2600)
