TALLMADGE -- James Harry Swartz, 72, passed away November 28, 2013.
Born in Girard, Ohio, Jim was a resident of Tallmadge most of his life. He was president of his 1959 Tallmadge High School graduating class. Jim was a member of the Jaycees, volunteered for Special Olympics, coached Little League baseball, and was the co-founder of Hallmark Home Inspections. He retired from sales at Independent Drug and worked as the starter at Sunny Hills Golf Course. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Swartz; sisters, Alice, Dorothy, Donna and Janet; brothers, Kenneth and Glen. He is survived by his daughter, Shelley Shears (Rick); son, James Todd Swartz of New Franklin; grandchildren, Miranda and Richard; sisters, Helen, Norma (Bill) Hise of Texas, and Doris Swartz of Akron.
Calling hours will be Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 4 until 7 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following, at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave., (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
