John W. Abrigg, age 77, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Richfield.
John was born March 25, 1936 in Canton, Ohio to the late George and Aletha (Eversole) Abrigg. He owned and operated Akron Valve and Fitting Co. John was a member of First Christian Church.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His passion was golf and creating loving memories with his family.
John leaves behind his best friend and loving wife of 53 years Joyce (Grunenwald). He was a loving father of Denise (Scott) Powers, Bryon (Diana) Abrigg and Michele (Mark) Lafont; dear grandfather of Katie (Matt) Hopkins, Jacob Brozzetti, Adriene (Blaine) Justice, Matthew Lafont, Claudia Brozzetti, Alex Powers, and Josh (Allison) and NanEl Hendricks; great-grandfather of Owen John Justice; devoted brother of Janice Lane, and George and Larry (Vivian) Abrigg. He was preceded in death by his sister, Verla Mae Bowser.
Service will be held 1 p.m, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pine Valley Care Center in honor of John W.
