BARBERTON -- Lois E. Cardinal (nee Roenbaugh), 88, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
Born in Uhrichsville, Ohio on October 30, 1925 to the late Edwin and Mae Davis Roenbaugh, she was a graduate of Brewster High School, Class of 1943. Lois and her late husband, Frederick Cardinal were married on August 28, 1928. She was employed by various companies as a secretary. Lois was a member of Barberton First Church of Christ, Barberton Emblem Club #419, Ladies Auxiliary VFW #1066 and the Red Hat Ladies Society.
Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who loved family birthdays, her flower gardens, feeding birds and squirrels and various crafts. She was known for sending cards to everyone for any occasion; Lois always had a smile on her face, she made people laugh, very patriotic and a huge Barberton Magics fan.
Preceded in death by her husband of 55 ½ years, Frederick "Coach Fred"; son-in-law, James "Jim" Blake; survived by daughter, Diana Blake of Barberton; sons, Fred A. (Suzanne) Cardinal of Barberton and Daniel Cardinal of Akron; grandchildren, Christine Blake, Michael (Ashley) Blake, Richard (Mindy) Cardinal, Tony (Amanda) Cardinal and James Cardinal; great-grandchildren, Kashia Blake and Jossilyn Blake; twins, Jalen and Xavier Watkins and Victor Cardinal; great-great-grandchildren, Ka'Mira, Kinnley, Kaelan, Camdyn and Brock; sister, Frances Reidy of Navarre; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, many dear cousins, other relatives, special friends, Michele Burns, Nancy Runda and Dorothy George; and many friends.
Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Tracy Marsh officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Calling hours Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Barberton First Church of Christ, 554 Harvard Ave., Barberton 44203.
