Marilyn 78 of Green died Dec. 21, 2013 in Santa Fe, NM. She was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Akron, Ohio the daughter of Henry Clay and Zelma (Halter) Mckenzie. Preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard McKenzie.
She graduated from the University of Akron, class of 1957, where she was a member of the Theta Phi Alpha sorority. She was a retired schoolteacher from Springfield Local Schools. She was a member of Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Allan (Dick) Schafer; son, Michael Glinsky and wife Barbara of Sante Fe, NM; and daughter, Catherine McKenzie of Santa Fe, NM.; two granddaughters, Alexandria Glinsky and Michaela Glinsky. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Nancy McKenzie of Pinehurst, N.C.; and nieces, Tracy Goncalves, Joseph of Connecticut and Kristan Panagrosso, Scott of Connecticut. Also five grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation Friday, January 3, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Rd., Akron, OH 44312, where a Mass of the Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. Fr. David Halaiko celebrant. Burial at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made in Marilyn's name to the
