Milton Victor Jones, 94, of Akron passed away peacefully on February 25, 2014.
He was born March 15, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Milton C and Ruby (Cutright) Jones. Vic graduated from Ohio State University in 1940 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the Army during World War II designing and testing flame throwers. Upon discharge, he was employed briefly at the Battelle Institute in Columbus and then began a 30 year career as the Division Engineer at the Chillicothe Mead Corporation. He was involved in the development of carbonless paper.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; sister, Mary Martin; wives, Flora Lillian Hartman, Mary Saxton and Hazel Mikel. He will be missed by daughter, Victoria (Dan) Sveda; grandsons, Robert Milton (Diann), Viktor John, and Alexander Daniel (Danica) Sveda; great-grandchildren, William Hawthorne, Emalyne Rose, and Lillian Victoria Sveda; and many nieces and nephews.
At his request, cremation has taken place. A family inurnment will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Chillicothe, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Vic's name to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, OH 44307.
