Ralph A. Higgs Obituary
Ralph A. Higgs, of Tallmadge, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 29, 2013.

He was born September 10, 1932 in Barberton to the late Lester and Gretta (nee McMillan) Higgs. He graduated from Kenmore High School and after two years at The University of Akron he joined the U.S. Air Force. After a short stay in Albuquerque, N.M., he was stationed at Medina Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Upon discharge, he went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in the Data Processing Dept. After 29 years with Goodyear, he went to work for the Akron Board of Education for 12 years before retiring. He was a 33 year member of AA and had many friends there.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth and brother-in-law, Elton Pay. He is survived by his sister, Lois (John) Wittibschlager and much loved nieces and nephews and their families, John (Karen) Wittibschlager of Greer, S.C., Paul (Liz) Wittibschlager of Macedonia, Ohio and Anne (Derek) Dauchy of Oak Park, Calif., Laura (Jerry) Cunningham of Danville, Ohio and Jim Pay of Brecksville, Ohio.

The family wishes to thank the very caring staff at Pleasant View Health Care Center and Summa Palliative and Hospice Care.

Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203, with Pastor Ken Gifford officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
