Richard W. Fox IV

Richard W. Fox IV, 92, went home to be with the Lord August 2, 2014.

He was born in Crookston, Minnesota and lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls areas for over 60 years. Richard served in World War II on the U.S.S. Colorado and also in the Korean War. He retired from the accounting department of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. Richard was a faithful attendee of The Chapel, was a member of Meade Avenue Christian Church, and a former member of High Street Christian Church. He was active in the Akron Metropolitan Hiking Club.

Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Freida J.; parents, Rev. Richard W. Fox III and Mamie Lynch Fox; sister, Evelyn House. He is survived by nephews, David (Sharon) House of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ., Grant (Peggy Jo) House of Santa Barbara, Calif.; many loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312. Graveside services and burial will take place 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12 at East End Cemetery in Wytheville, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, P.O. Box 547, Akron, Ohio 44309-0547.
