Obituary Condolences

Robert F. Hudecek

Robert F. Hudecek, age 89, of Twinsburg, formerly of Northfield, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Irene "Oz" (nee Cvecko); loving father of Lee (Letty) Hudecek, Dianne Fihe, Jayne (Steven) Lewin, Margaret (Paul) Zillman, Robert J. (Cheryl) Hudecek, Glenn (Kathi) Hudecek, Donna (Tracy) Fort and Carol (Greg) Meyer; loving grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to many, and dear brother of five late brothers and sisters.

Robert was a decorated serviceman who served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II receiving a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and many other awards. Bob and Oz had many wonderful years with their life-long friends from the "old neighborhood." "The Gang" holds a special place in everyone's heart. Retirement years were spent golfing, bowling and traveling with Oz, most memorably to meet family members in Europe.

Bob's family would like to acknowledge the care he so lovingly received from the Veterans Administration staff members, Dr. Hasman, Denise and Wes; The Sprenger staff at Grand Village Retirement Community; and the end of life care provided by Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations be made to assist the Ohio Western National Cemetery at OWRNC Advisory Committee, P.O. Box 8, Rittman, OH 44270, where he will join Oz; or to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 9451 Brandywine Road, Northfield, OH 44067 (direct to Building Fund on envelope), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013. Friends will be received 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and also from 9 a.m. Friday until prayers begin at 9:30 a.m., at JOHNSON-ROMITO FUNERAL HOME, 99 WEST AURORA ROAD (one mile west of Route 8), NORTHFIELD CENTER, OHIO (330-468-1443). Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
