Rose L. Spenik, 86, passed away Nov. 9, 2012 after a long illness.|
Born Sept. 22, 1926 in Morgantown, W. Va., she was a Cuyahoga Falls resident for over 60 years who worked in the grocery industry for more than 30 years, first at A&P Stores and later retiring from Giant Eagle.
A devout Catholic, she was a charter member of St. Eugene's Parish. Rose loved to cook and entertain for family and friends; no one ever went hungry at her table. She was an extremely open and giving person who never knew a stranger. She was dedicated and loyal to a fault, and her example will live on with every person she touched with her guarded laugh and wonderful smile. She will be sorely missed.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles, to whom she was married for 51 years, in 1999, she is survived by her brother, Joseph (Joanne) Spino; sons, Charles (Barbara) and Mark (Laurie); grandchildren, Christine (Gary) Huber and Matthew (Sara); Alexander and Rachel Spenik; stepgrandchildren, Cody (Carrie), Jesse and Bryce Grimm; and great-granddaughters, Felicity and Cora; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ciriello and Carr Cuyahoga Falls Chapel, 810 Portage Tr. Mass of Christian Burial 11a.m. Friday at St. Eugene's Catholic Church. Private inurnment at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
