Scott E. Burk, M.D. Ph.D., born 4-12-1967 passed away March 21, 2013.

He resided in Loveland, Ohio. Attended The Good Shepard Church and Lebanon UM Church. Attended Walsh Jesuit H.S., Summa Cum Laude and B.S. degree from the Akron University, Pre-Med in two years, Valedictorian of the University of Cincinnati (College of Medicine) completing a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and his M.D. Degree in seven years. An Internship in Dept of Internal Medicine prior to Harvard Medical School where he received three years of training. Becoming an Associate of Cincinnati Eye Institute (CEI) with a Fellowship in Cataract Surgery and Refraction. He was a consummate researcher with 21 publications and textbook chapters. A national and international speaker, the Grand Prize from the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgeons mtg in Nice, France was presented to Dr. Burk. The vitreous gel was identified in a video presentation. Many awards included Robert E. Ott Award, Stella Feis Hoffheimer Prize, Lange Medical Publication and McGraw-Hill Publishing Co. Award. He was chosen as a Merion Merrell Dow Medical Science Scholar and elected into scientific honor societies of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Sigma Alpha and Medical Honors Soc. And Alpha Omega Alpha.

Board Certified as a Fellow of American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of American Society and European Society and Associates of Cataract and Refraction Surgery, and an for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.

Many memories endure for parents, William Emery Burk and Carol Horseman Burk; wife, Andrea Da Mata Burk; and children, Alec S. Burk, Ana G. Burk, Scott A. Burk; brother Perry M. and wife, Robyn Burk and his family Hailey and Tyler Burk.
