William F. Lawrence, Jr.

William F. Lawrence, Jr. devoted husband, stepfather, son, brother and soldier, passed away April 24, 2014 at home in Louisville surrounded by his loving family at the age of 42.

Bill was born March 8, 1972 in Akron and proudly served in the United States Army for over 18 years until he was forced to retire after being injured in Iraq. Bill earned numerous awards and commendations during his service, including the Bronze Star. A soldier till the end, Bill fought a long, brave battle with cancer but suffers no more.

Bill is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen Lawrence; stepdaughter, Celena Krieg; mother and step-pops, LouAnn and Tony Fisher; adoring mother and father-in-law, Kathy and Dave Sayle; three sisters; one brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

His father, William F. Lawrence Sr., precedes him in death.

Bill's family will receive friends Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. A private service with full military honors will be held in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the or the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, 1331 E. Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
