ChismFeb 11, 1932 - July 27, 2014 BLANCHARD Alvin Kenneth "Ken" Chism, of Blanchard, OK, passed away at the age of 82 on July 27, 2014, at the Veterans Center in Norman, OK. Ken was born on Feb. 11, 1932, in Pharaoh, OK to Alvin and Norma Chism, their only child. He grew up in Pharoah, attending school there until graduating high school. After that, he served in the Army for two years. After his discharge, Ken went to work for The Daily Oklahoman, where he worked as a pressman for thirty-three years. He enjoyed the outdoors and working on cars, especially Studebakers. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Druscilla; his daughters, Patricia Clark and Mary Zlomke and husband Michael; his son, John Chism and wife Toni; adopted daughters, Linda Chism, Cherise Bowen, and Annette Hammons and husband Quincy; stepsons, Max McCurdy and Mike McCurdy and wife Sherri; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Chism; daughter, Chris Chism; and granddaughter, Jennifer Perrin. Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014. Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2014, at Lynlee Mae Chapel, Moore, OK. Interment will be 1 p.m. Friday, August 1, at the Newcastle Cemetery, Newcastle, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
