March 19, 1944 - July 14, 2013 ROSSVILLE, GA Ann Loeffler Grogg, 69, of Rossville, Georgia, passed away July 14, 2013. She was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 19, 1944, and was a dedicated elementary school teacher for more than 30 years, primarily in Walker County, Georgia (including being honored as Teacher of the Year). She graduated from Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City, where she played the French horn in the band. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from East Tennessee State University (with honors) and a Master of Arts in Education from Berry College (with honors). She was a supportive part of her husband's forty-year career as a United Methodist Minister and was active in many churches of which she was a member. At the time of her passing, she was a member of McFarland United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and participated in short-term mission trips; she was also a Life Member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, the international honorary organization for women educators. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman F. Loeffler Sr. & Eloise Longtin Loeffler; and brother, Norman F. Loeffler Jr. She is survived by her husband, the Reverend Gary W. Grogg; daughters, Amy L. Grogg and Jill E. Grogg; son-in-law, Jeff Weddle; and grandchildren, Gus Weddle, Harper Ann Weddle, and Sophie Grogg. A memorial service of celebration will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at Christ United Methodist Church, with Dr. Matt Hampton, the Rev. James Fillingim and Dr. B.R. Martin officiating. The family will greet friends 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the McFarland United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 101 E Gordon Ave, Rossville, GA 30741; or the , Georgia Chapter (http://www.alz.org/georgia/in_my_community_donate.asp).
