Sept. 8, 1929 - March 3, 2013 CUSHING Bill Griffin, 83, peacefully turned to the right on Sunday, March 3. A memorial service will be held 11am on Saturday, March 9, 2013, First Christian Church, 300 E. Moses, Cushing. He was born in Konawa, son of the late Hugh and Minnie (Culpepper) Griffin. An alumnus of Okla. Military Academy, he was 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Korean War. Honorably discharged, he completed his B.S. in Petroleum and Mechanical Engineering at Okla. A&M (OSU) and began his career in Texas where he met and married Peggy Leddy, who preceded him in death in 1998. Bill was a hard worker, a meticulous engineer, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of American Petroleum Institute, Society of Petroleum Engineers, VFW and First Christian Church. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Anne Griffin, Lewisburg, PA, his daughter, Kerrie, his daughter and son-in-law, Billie Griffin and Jon Kulczycki, Denver, grandchildren, Deanne and Bic Griffin, Lewisburg, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Wanda Griffin, Sulphur Springs, TX, Rube and Mary Griffin, Konawa, HO and Doris Griffin, Vamoosa. He was preceded in death by his sister, Richadean, Heavener. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to OMRF, Meals on Wheels or VFW.
