Henderson Aug 17, 1928 - March 14, 2014 EDMOND Calvin Lewis Henderson was born August 17, 1928, at home in Good Hope, AL to his parents, Henry Clay and Mary Ollie Hall Henderson. He went home to meet his Lord Jesus Christ on March 14, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Barnette Henderson, of the home; and two sons, Richard and wife Cindy and Griff and wife Shari, of Edmond. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Lauren and husband Jeff Mains, of Edmond, OK; Brock, of Oklahoma City, OK; Kirt, of Shawnee, OK; and Clay and wife Hannah, of Hoover, AL; and also, three special great-grandsons, Brody, Brixton, and Cash Mains. Calvin served five years in the U.S. Army in the Occupying Forces of Japan and served 31 months in Okinawa during the Korean War. He was awarded various medals and attained the rank of master sergeant. He was employed in the clothing industry as a sales rep with Sewell Manufacturing Clothing Company for 31 years and then in the real estate industry with Prudential/Alliance for 18 years. He was charter member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church and was active there for 37 years. He is a current member of Waterloo Road Baptist Church, where his son, Griff, is pastor. Calvin was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was true, loyal and faithful to his family and friends. Services will be Monday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at the Waterloo Road Baptist Church, Edmond, OK, with the Rev. Kenneth Lay officiating.
