December 20, 1940 - July 27, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Claude Lee Hamon, age 73, of OKC, passed away July 27, 2014. He was born December 20, 1940, to Arthur & Dorothy Hamon. Claude was a 1959 graduate of Harding High School. He was awarded an All-American High School Award for football. Claude attended the University of Oklahoma and played football for the Sooners. After college, he became a firefighter, and worked at Station #17, in Oklahoma City, until his retirement. Claude was an avid golfer, a past champion at Lake Hefner and Surrey Hills Country Club. He loved being outdoors. His first love was his family. Claude always had a gift in his hand for his grandchildren. He was a very proud father and grandfather. Claude is survived by his son, Christopher Hamon & wife, Holly, of Edmond; 1 daughter, Ginger Greer & husband, Merek, of West Jefferson, OH; 7 grandchildren, Holly Greer, Makenzy Hamon, Caitlin Greer, Ashlen Hamon, Sheridan Thomsen, Chance Thomsen and Carson Hamon. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 1, 2014, in the Chapel of Memorial Park Cemetery. Interment to follow. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
