April 26, 1927 - Oct 6, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with military honors and interment to follow. Daniel was born in Shidler, OK to George Lewis and Verna Ann (Wood) Hocker. He proudly served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hadley as a gunner. He recently received a purple heart for his bravery. Daniel retired from the U.S. Postal service after 30-plus years. He is survived by two daughters, Janie Blevins and Danna Drumm & husband Richard; stepchildren, Doris and Mike Lafferty; seven grandchildren, Brett Drumm & wife Julie, Buck Drumm & wife Tiffany, Richard Blevins, Gary Blevins & wife Angie, Sandra Nelson & husband Curt, James Hocker, Jr., and Brent Hocker Garman; eight great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Imogene Duncan & husband Max. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; son, James Lee Hocker, Sr.; three brothers, Charles, Norman, and Robert; and sister, Patricia. Daniel will be fondly remembered by his family as a loving and compassionate man.
