Obituary Condolences

Dec 8, 1919 - May 5, 2013 Delbert E. Fuhrmann (93) was born to John and Iva Fuhrmann in Union, OK. He graduated Hennessey High School in 1937. He served in the Army's Pacific Theatre during WWII as a Staff Sergeant. He attended Hills Business College in OKC. Delbert married his wife of 63 years, Waldyne James Fuhrmann, in 1947 in OKC, where they made their home. They were members of First UMC and later, St. Luke's UMC. After Waldyne's death in 2009, Delbert resided with his daughter, Donna Hardway in Tulsa and was a member at Asbury UMC until his illness in March, when he moved to the Veterans Center at Claremore. Delbert was active in the Broken Arrow Seniors, Inc. and YMCA Silver Sneakers. Delbert was an accountant. He owned Med-Center Grocery in OKC, from which he retired. He was a loving husband and father and good, Christian family man. Delbert is survived by two brothers, Clinton (Mabel) Fuhrmann, of Tulsa; and Norman (Gloria) Fuhrmann, of Wellington, KS; two daughters, Debbie Fuhrmann, of North Ridgeville, OH; and Donna (Roger) Hardway, of Tulsa; four grandchildren, Christopher (Tiffany) Hardway, of OKC; John (Tami) Hardway, of Tulsa; Tina Hardway, of Tulsa; and Stephanie (Matthew) Doke, of Coweta; two great-grandchildren, Willow Hardway and Sarah Doke; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be held in OKC at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at 11 a.m. on June 15.
