October 31, 1936 - November 4, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Denver, 77, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2013. The son of James Robert and Velma Marie Cox, Denver was born October 31, 1936 in Oklahoma City. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. On January 10, 1969, he married his sweetheart, Anna Louise Frantz. This union of marriage was blessed with 2 sons. He provided a warm and loving home for his family by working as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years, and was a proud Gold Card member of the NALC. Denver was an active member of American Legion Post 184, which meshed with his passion for collecting militaria, mostly from World War II. Denver was a loving husband, devoted father and adoring grandfather who will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his parents, Denver leaves cherished memories with his loving wife of 44 years, Ann Cox of the home; sons, Clay Cox and wife, Natalie of Verden, OK, Curtis Cox of Yukon, OK; daughters from a previous marriage, Eva Shott and husband, Doug of Hot Springs, AR, Carol Cox of Booneville, AR; sister, Moe Anson and husband, Eddie of Louisville, KY; grandson, Matt Shott; great-granddaughter, Madilyn Welch; and many other loving relatives and friends. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, November 7, 2013, at the South Lakes Chapel.
