DICK TEEL Obituary
December 25, 1934 - April 25, 2012 BLANCHARD Dick Arlen Teel, 77, of Blanchard, OK, passed away on April 25, 2012. Dick was born on Christmas Day, 1934 to Manson Lee Teel and Arlene Teel in Oklahoma City. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Lou. Together they had two sons and a daughter: Tom Teel of Blanchard, Harry Teel of Oklahoma City, and Kathleen Santee of Blanchard. He has two grandsons, Jonathan and Andrew Santee, both of Oklahoma City, and two brothers, Harry D. Teel and his wife Beverly of Brandon, MS and Robert E. Teel of Oklahoma City. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mavis Martin, of Mt. Vernon, IL. Dick graduated from Central High School in 1953 before serving in the U.S. Marine Corps 1954-1958. After leaving the Marines, Dad worked in the oilfield and roofing business, before starting Village Construction Company. Later on he partnered with his son Tom, to start a tree farm, which gave him many hours of joy and frustration! Dad was a talented woodworker who made many wonderful projects over the years for family and friends. Throughout his life, Dad was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, golf and trapshooting, passing these interest on to his kids and grandkids. He was a kind man blessed with a gentle spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family would like to thank the Oncology Department at Mercy Hospital for their kindness and wonderful care, with a special thank you to James Reeves, MD and Jeannie Gunter, RN. Many thanks also go out to the Hospice staff at Mercy for their support and care, and to Dwayne Schmidt, MD of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital for all of his care, support and guidance. A celebration of Dick's life will be held on June 2 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Teel family home.
