Jan 24, 1922 - Aug 28, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY George Stanley Ciupak, 92, born in Conemaugh, PA on Jan. 24, 1922, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, after living a long and happy life. George was a devoted Catholic, father and patriot. George joined the US. Air Force (Army Air Corps), where he was an aircraft mechanic. During WWII, he was stationed in Burma, India, repairing aircraft and flying supply missions. After serving in the Air Force for 20 years, he retired as a master sergeant in 1963. He continued to proudly serve his country as a reservist and he worked as an Industrial Engineer Technician for 20 years at Tinker AFB. George was also a supporter of the Boy Scouts and was a Scout Master for Troop 94, serving for long after his sons aged out of scouting. George was an active member St. Charles Borromeo and St. Patrick's Catholic Churches. He was also active at the local senior citizen centers. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty Ciupak; sons, James and Thomas Ciupak; parents, Stanley and Antonina Ciupak; and five siblings. Survivors include his children, Stephen Ciupak and wife Carolyn, Don Ciupak and wife Jan, Karen Jackson and husband Robert, and Patti Jordan and husband Jeff; five siblings; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, at 9 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. A prayer vigil will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, at 7 p.m. in Mercer-Adams Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 5024 N. Grove, Warr Acres.
