NortonJan 8, 1934 - Jan 31, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Herbert H. "Herb" Norton, 79, died January 31, 2013. He was born January 8, 1934, in OKC to Marion and Nancy Catherine (King) Norton. He married Faye Fulton on June 5, 1953, and they enjoyed nearly 60 wonderful years together. For over 30 years, he and Faye have worked alongside one another as co-owners of Designer Hardware by Faye. In 1953-1955, he served in the U.S. Army Helicopter Unit at Fort Sam Houston during the Korean Conflict. After serving the Army, he attended OCU and Central State University. The thing he enjoyed the most in life was his family. Among his pleasures was traveling, particularly to Paris, his favorite place in the world. Herb was a kind and gentle man and pure of heart, except when he played fast pitch softball for 30 years. On the ball field, he became known as "Herby Baby." He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Steve and Jerry Norton; daughter, Mitzi Norton; five brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye; sister, Grace Tate; and brother-in-law, Bud Fulton and wife Paula. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Decorative Plumbing & Hardware National Association Council of Fellows Scholarship Fund, DPHA, 7508 Wisconsin Ave, 4th Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.
