He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas and returned to Oklahoma City for his residency in cardiology. He opened his private practice in 1962. He was a distinguished and much loved physician for 36 years at Baptist Hospital and Mercy Health Center. He was a Fellow in the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. She quit teaching in order to raise three children. She was an active volunteer in many civic organizations, including the Women's State Medical Auxiliary, Delta Gamma Fraternity, P.E.O., the Oklahoma Museum of Art, the Ballet Society, and Heritage Hall School. The Bressies were active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church and Quail Creek Country Club. In 1998, they retired full time to Tucson, AZ. They were members of Northminster Presbyterian Church and Ventana Golf and Country Club. Jerry died unexpectedly in June 2012 in Tucson. Kathleen relocated to Bozeman, MT to be near family. She passed away in June 2013. Kathleen and Jerry, who were married for 57 years, are survived by two daughters, Annette Bressie Jackson (Bruce) and Elaine Bressie Squire (Russ); and four grandchildren, Alexa and Andrew Jackson, and Danielle and Amanda Squire. They were predeceased by their son, Conrad Lee Bressie. In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation of America or to the P.E.O. Foundation.
