March 8, 1969 - August 10, 2014 NORMAN Laura Marble Arledge was born on March 8, 1969 and died on August 10, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Laura was the adoring mother of Andrew Christopher Arledge and Samantha Sarah Arledge. Laura graduated from Chickasha High School in 1987, and attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas her freshman year. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1991 with a degree in history and from the University of Oklahoma School of Law in 1994. Laura played competitive tennis at Chickasha High School and at Austin College. She worked as a lawyer with the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System where she did post-conviction work on behalf of inmates on death row. She was also a proud supporter of Norman High School Athletics; she was named Fan of the Year for 2012-13. Survivors include her children, Andrew Christopher Arledge and Samantha Sarah Arledge, both of Norman, Oklahoma, her brother, John Dexter Marble, III of Raleigh, North Carolina, and her parents, Sarah Marble and John Dexter Marble, Jr. of Edmond, Oklahoma. A memorial service celebrating the life of Laura Marble Arledge will be held at McFarlin Methodist Church, Norman, Oklahoma, at 10:00am on Friday, August 15, 2014. In honor of Laura, the family asks that friends consider donations to the and/or the Booster Club for Norman High School Athletics.
