Sep. 30, 1923 - Sep. 7, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY A CELEBRATION OF LIFE! Join us in celebrating the vivacious life of Opal Hampton who passed away Saturday, September 7, three weeks shy of her 90th birthday. Opal touched many lives as secretary at Grant High School for 21 years. Her proudest accomplishment was her three children Mickey Hampton, Annette Williams and Lisa Lambeth. They continued to add to the family with 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and finally one great, great grandchild. She and her husband, George, Retired Oklahoma City Firefighter, had 60 years of marriage before he died in 2001. If you knew Opal she was full of life and her favorite quote was from Auntie Mame, "Life is a banquet and most of you poor suckers are starving to death." She loved to read, was a fantastic cook, and made everyone she met laugh and feel special. Opal lived a full, healthy, happy life and there was nothing she couldn't do or wouldn't try. Although she will be missed, she would never want us to be sad. She was a great wife, friend and an incredibly loving mom.
