November 22, 1929 - April 30, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Our beloved Bob, being a faithful disciple for Christ, went gently into the arms of Jesus on April 30, 2014. Bob was born Robert Elliott Ferguson on Nov. 22, 1929, in Jersey City, NJ, to Thomas Clifton and Emma Retha Stone Ferguson. He graduated in 1947 from Classen High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. Bob and Dorothy Joan Garoutte were married at Camp Carson, CO, in December, 1950. Bob worked 47 years for Mike Bryan Office Supplies (Boise Cascade) in a job he loved and considered all his customers his friends. After retirement, he worked part-time for First American Title & Trust. For 30 years, Bob and his "Darling Doty" traveled the U.S. and Canada on their "Gold Wing." They were members of the "Okie Wheels." For the last 16 years, Bob and his friend and piano player, Margo Thein, entertained at nursing homes, retirement centers, civic centers, and as Bob would say, "any place they would let us come." He was preceded in death by his parents and a still-born son, Steven Craig. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy, whom he loved dearly for 63 years; a brother, Howard Ferguson (wife Jayne), Bartlesville; sons, Robert Alan (wife Deborah) CO, and Mark Randel (wife Raenelle), Bethany; and grandchildren, Phillip, Blake, Myles, Evan, Theodore and Devon. Bob was a member of Western Oaks Christian Church where he has been a Deacon and an Elder and a member of Rejoice and Serve Sunday School Class. Thanks for the many acts of kindness from our friends, and a special Thank You to AutumnBridge Hospice. Services to celebrate his life will be at 1pm, Sat., May 3, 2014, at Western Oaks Christian Church with a reception following immediately at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Western Oaks Christian Church. To share a memory or condolence, visit www.mercer-adams.com www.mercer-adams.com
